Four men have been indicted in connection with a 2023 shooting that resulted in a friendly fire killing of 18-year-old Curtis Smith. Jamario Lofton, Ishad Livingston, Lynnario Washington, and Terrell Shelton were charged with murder with the use of a deadly weapon intended to promote, further or assist a criminal gang, conspiracy, and gun-related charges. The indictment came nearly three years after the fatal shooting, which was listed among the Metropolitan Police Department's cold cases. The defendants and Smith, who were members of the criminal street gang "YNIC," had an ongoing feud with another gang called "Spazzout". Police are seeking a stolen 2018 black Kia with Nevada license plate LVV0Y8.
