Vancouver Whitecaps supporters protested outside the FIFA Congress, calling for the Major League Soccer club to remain in the city amid uncertainty over its future. The demonstration took place as delegates arrived for FIFA's annual gathering in Vancouver, Canada. The club has been unable to find a buyer committed to keeping the team in the town, citing stadium economics, venue access, and revenue limitations as reasons for uncertainty. The protest was held as 100 fans chanted, sang and waved flags outside the congress. The team's current lease at BC Place expires at the end of the year.
