An Injured Butterfly Got a Dried Flower for a Wing (and It Can Fly Again)

Morhaf Ghazi, a 30-year-old man from Syria, found a butterfly with a broken wing on a hiking trail in Amman, Jordan and began a one-man butterfly recovery operation. He used a dried flower from a book he'd kept in for nearly a decade and used tweezers and a small amount of glue to replace the damaged wing. The procedure took about an hour, not counting the days of care leading up to it. The butterfly was able to fly the following day.
