The convention aims to advance independent production of and cultural cooperation across Europe and introduce a set of co-pro rules similar to what already exists in the world of film. The rules will also streamline administrative procedures and clarify obligations to make it easier for producers from different countries to work together. The announcement will be made at the event, which has been seen as a key hub for European co-production. The treaty enters a phase of ratification by member states of the Council of Europe or states party to the European Cultural Convention.
