Bucks County, Pennsylvania, borough officials have warned residents not to feed wildlife that can harm animals, disrupt natural behaviors, and pose health risks to humans. The warning comes after a fox in the area got a peanut butter jar stuck on its face, which was removed without injury by public works employees. Officials warn that feeding wildlife can lead to serious consequences, including malnutrition, digestive issues, and deformities when fed bread or processed foods. It also encourages animals to congregate unnaturally, increasing the risk of disease transmission. Additionally, it can attract nuisance species like raccoons, deer, and mice, which can damage property and create conflicts. Instead of feeding wildlife directly, support their natural habitats by planting native trees, shrubs, and flowers.
