UCLA women's basketball coach Cori Close addressed her team's first-half performance at halftime, calling it "unacceptable". The Bruins responded by turning the 10-point halftime lead into a 96-43 victory over California Baptist. The team's second half performance saw them score 27 points and allow nine points in the second half. UCLA's center Lauren Betts led the team with 22 points and 10 rebounds, marking the most by any player since 2020. Despite the criticism, Close remains confident in her team and says they will be better for it.
