More people accessing abortions through telehealth as travel slows

The number of people seeking abortions through telehealth has decreased from 72,000 to 91,000, according to a report from The Guttmacher Institute. The report also noted that states like Idaho and Tennessee have passed "abortion-trafficking" laws that penalize residents who travel out of state for abortion care. However, the rate of clinician-provided abortions remained stable last year, with an estimated 1,126,000 abortions performed in the U.S. Approximately two-thirds of all abortions in the US are chemical abortions done through the abortion pill.
