Darius Rucker, the frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish, revealed that he nearly refused to record a song after hearing Chris Stapleton's version of the 2010 hit "Come Back Song." Speaking on Absolute Radio Country, Rucker recalled working with Staplet on his 2010 album Charleston, SC 1966 and how it was intimidating for him to record his own version. The song was the first single on the record and one of Rucker's fastest moving songs to No. 1 on Billboard's U.S. Hot Country Songs chart.
