Rita Cedeno Ortiz, a Beverly Hills woman, has been charged with 25 counts of aggravated felony forgery for filing dozens of fraudulent multimillion dollar liens against homeowners throughout Los Angeles County. The fraudulent claims, which can be filed by someone who did construction or improvement work on the property and was not paid, were filed by Ortiz Consulting LLC, which claimed extravagant unpaid fees for work such as cleaning services and business consulting services. Ortiz, who also claimed the title of "honorary mayor elect" of Panorama City, was arrested last week and is currently being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility.
