10-year-old Jahari Alford was hit by a dirt bike while out on a bike ride with his friends in Northeast DC. The group of ATVs and dirt bikes ran him over and left him nearly lifeless on 14th and Chapin Street. Despite waking up in the hospital, Alford made a remarkable recovery and plans to ride his bike again. His injuries included blood in his brain, a fractured spine, and a concussion. Police are still searching for the dirt bike rider responsible for the hit-and-run. It is illegal to ride ATVs or dirt bikes on DC streets and it is not possible to chase them.
