The US President's administration has proposed a national AI legislative framework for the United States, calling for Congress to establish a unified federal framework and warns that a patchwork of state laws could hinder innovation and competitiveness. The framework includes six core policy areas including protecting children, empowering parents, strengthening communities, intellectual property and creator rights, expanding AI innovation and workforce development. It also urges Congress to preempt state-level AI laws that could burden developers. The White House's proposal does not address the risk of job displacement as AI adoption increases across industries.
