Monroe County man files federal lawsuit after parasite illness

A Monroe County man, Lucas Burnham, has filed a federal lawsuit against food suppliers Taylor Farms and Taco Bell in a bid to recoup damages and create accountability for the cyclosporiasis outbreak that has resulted in illnesses across the country, particularly in the Midwest. Burnham was diagnosed with Cyclosporia, a parasite-born illness that has affected thousands across the US. The lawsuit is part of a larger effort to recover damages and establish accountability for food suppliers. The outbreak has resulted two deaths in Michigan and two in the state.
