Douglas Bradley, a Brooklyn grandfather who was fatally hit by a hit-and-run driver, had overcome addiction to become a drug counselor and devoted his life to helping others in their struggles with substance abuse. The driver, Eric Rodríguez, was arrested for leaving the scene of a fatal accident on Dec. 21 and has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Douglas Bradley died on Jan. 2 after two weeks of life in a vegetative state. Rodriguez is accused of fleeing the scene and concealing the accident.
