A Thurston County man has been arrested for the 98th time, following a high-speed chase through Olympia after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from multiple stores. The man and a woman in the truck were also involved in a theft in Lacey three days prior. Deputies called off the pursuit due to the reckless behavior of the fleeing driver. The truck was found abandoned a short time later and both suspects were taken into custody at gunpoint. The woman was turned over to Centralia PD for organized retail theft. The suspect, a four-time convicted felon with 27 prior misdemeanors, is also facing charges of DUI, eluding, and possession of narcotics.
