The Aurora City Council has approved the final major contract for the RiverEdge Park renovation, set to be completed by the end of May. The work includes an upgrade to the park’s sound system at a cost of nearly $320,000, and a new backstage building, a new restroom building, and an additional south gate entry. The renovation is designed to increase the park's capacity by about 2,500 people. The City Council also approved the purchase of two new jumbotrons for $534,000 in October, which was also intended to improve the back area of the park. The approval of these contracts was part of the consent agenda at the meeting.
