State Representative Tina Davis is pushing for legislation to improve emergency preparedness in care facilities after a 2025 explosion at a Bucks County nursing home killed three and injured over 10. Davis plans to introduce a bill that would require existing emergency plans to be shared with local police and first responders and reviewed annually, as current laws do not explicitly do so. The bill would establish clear procedures for evacuation and account for residents, staff, and visitors, and designate an on-site emergency coordinator to communicate with first responders. Davis notes that in any emergency, there is "no margin for confusion or delay" in instances like this. No formal legislation has been introduced yet.
