American oil company, ConocoPhillips, has visited Venezuela to evaluate potential investments in the country. The company left Venezuela in 2007 after its assets were nationalized and is owed about $12 billion with interest following arbitration awards. U.S. President Donald Trump has urged oil companies to invest in rebuilding Venezuela's energy sector.
