The move is part of a larger effort by President Trump to assist the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which has been affected by a partial government shutdown. The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE and the TSA, may not inform the airport ahead of time if ICE officers are coming. However, ICE did not respond to specific inquiries about specific locations and blamed Democrats for the situation. Despite this, San Diego fliers faced significant delays due to weather events and major delays at New York's LaGuardia Airport.
