US snowboarder Mike Schultz, who owns BioDapt, a lower-limb prosthetic manufacturer, won a bronze medal in the men’s banked slalom at the Cortina Para Snowboard Park in Italy. Despite his bronze, Schultz's impact on the sport will extend beyond his medal. He plans to take a backseat role from competition to focus on BioDap's lower leg prosthetic manufacturing. Teammate Zach Miller described Schultz as "the Mount Rushmore of the sport" and "the perfect embodiment of the Paralympic spirit." The medal completed Schultz's Paralympian medal set, with a 2018 gold in the snowboard cross, a 2018 silver in the banked-slalom and 2022 silver in both events.
