Gloucestershire Airport now costing taxpayers nearly £3m a year

The annual operating loss at Gloucestershire Airport has increased from £1.4m to £2.7m since the site was first marketed with an asking price of £25m. The loss is estimated to be around £150,000 per year. The sale of the airport would have cost Gloucester City Council a total of £4.5m after all debts were settled. The failure to sell the airport has cost taxpayers in legal, consultancy, officer time and agents fees.
