Local Colleges Report: Aztecs win regular-season MW title in baseball; big games ahead for PLNU, CSUSM

San Diego State has secured key victories in both baseball and track, with the baseball team clinching their third outright regular-season Mountain West title and their first since 2004. The Aztecs defeated UNLV 15-1, seven-inning, run-rule victory, and will be the No. 1 seed in the Mountain West Tournament, starting May 21 in Mesa, Ariz. In track, SDSU's Jenna Feyerabend won the first gold medal of the women's track and field championships with a conference-record score of 5,905 points. The fourth-ranked CSUSM softball team defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 14-4 to advance to the West Regionals Championship game. Eighth-ranked Point Loma Nazarene is one win away from advancing to the NCAA Division II Super Regionals.
