Trista Ann Spicer, 46, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for murdering her boyfriend, Eric Mercado, in October 2014. Spicer testified that the killing occurred following an argument about the dinner she served to Mercado. Despite her claims, prosecutors believe Mercado's injuries were consistent with his death in his sleep. Following her death, Spicer enlisted a friend to cover Mercado in a deflated air mattress and bury him under a concrete staircase. She also revealed to her new boyfriend that she murdered Mercado due to his abusive behavior.
