An 82-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder for beating a woman with a hammer in Lake County, police say. The Groveland Police Department received a call regarding a well-being check at a residence, which quickly escalated into a gruesome discovery. Vincent Di Fraia was found seated on a couch covered in blood and had self-inflicted cuts on both his arms. The victim was found lying in bed with hammer next to her body, covered with blood, and the bedroom walls and ceiling were also covered. The medical examiner's office determined that the victim had died more than 24 hours before her body was found. DiFraia had previously made comments about a possible suicide pact involving pills a month prior to the incident.
