The El Paso City Council has voted to appeal the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) decision in the Texas Gas Service (TGS) rate case, allowing the city attorney to file a motion for a rehearing with the RRC. This move aligns with the City's opposition to TGS’s plans to increase rates and consolidate customers into uniform statewide pricing. A decision on the rehearing motion is pending. The City is using every legal avenue to challenge TGS's rate case and will ask the courts to review whether the decision complies with state law and is supported by the record. The city has been actively advocating for residents throughout the TGS rate case process.
