PFAS Ban On Firefighter Foam Pushed By Lower Bucks Co. Lawmakers

Lower Bucks Co. representative, Mike Munroe, has testified in favor of H.B. 1261, which would prohibit the manufacture, sale, distribution, and use of foam that contains a group of chemicals known as PFAS. Munroe's district, which includes Warminster, Warrington, Ivyland, and parts of New Britain, has been severely impacted by these chemicals. The legislation would allow fire companies to use state grant funding to offset the small cost of disposal of PFAS-laden foam. Violations of this prohibition would result in fines to benefit firefighter training.
