The Utah State Board of Education has reported that a cyberattack on Canvas, a tool used widely across Utah schools, potentially compromises millions of users' personal information. The stolen data includes names, email addresses, student ID numbers, and messages sent through the program. However, financial information, dates of birth, social security numbers, were not compromised. The cybercrime group "ShinyHunters" claimed credit for the attack, claiming nearly 9,000 schools worldwide were affected. As per Utah law, parents must be notified once more information is available.
