More Charges Filed In Pittsburgh-Area Child Abuse Homicide Case

The 9-year-old girl's body was found partially submerged in the Youghiogheny River in Westmoreland County last year. Her grandmother, Theresa Marie Shipley, and a family friend, Sandra Lynn Umensetter, have been charged with endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person. The charges stem from child abuse and neglect. An autopsy report found that Renesmay died from malnourishment and blunt force trauma.
