Kansas players took responsibility for their team's final-second loss to St. John's in the NCAA Tournament's second round, which they believe was a collective failure. St.John's advanced to its first Sweet 16 since 1999 with a 67-65 victory over Kansas. The team had trailed by 14 at one point but managed to rally back, with Dylan Darling's only basket being a driving layup as time expired. The Red Storm scored 18 points off 16 Kansas turnovers, leading to seven points for KU. Sophomore guard Elmarko Jackson, who was guarding Darling on the final play, covered his head with a towel in the locker room as he spoke to reporters after the loss. The Jayhawks will miss the Sweet Sixteen for the fourth consecutive year.
