The film, "The Union of Pinnacle Tenants: A Short History of NYC Housing," features Mamdan and Cea Waver, the controversial director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants. The New York Post makes a cameo appearance in the 13-minute work, which was criticized by one watchdog group as "extremist" over his anti-Israeli views. The documentary also provides a history of changes to rent-control and rent-stabilization laws since the 1960s. The watchdog group Common Sense criticized the use of public funds for such a short film, arguing that good governance is about delivering real solutions to real problems.
