Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar has blamed an accounting "discrepancy" on a financial disclosure listing her net worth at up to $30 million, but insists she is not a millionaire. The original disclosure indicated a significant increase in income, listing assets between $6 million and $30m, a roughly 3,500% increase from 2023 to 2024. An amended filing now shows shared assets with her husband of up to just $95,000. The inflated figures were from Mynett's businesses, a California-based winery and a Washington, DC venture capital firm. Despite scrutiny, Omar's aides deny the errors were missed due to her not being involved in these businesses.
