ABC is expected to lose tens of millions after canceling Taylor Frankie Paul's season of "The Bachelorette" due to an ongoing police investigation involving the Utah-based reality star. The cancellation comes amid reports that Paul was involved in an alleged domestic abuse incident with her former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, years after Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in a separate case. Leaked footage of a physical altercation from 2023 shows Paul seen kicking Mortensen and throwing metal barstools at him. ABC's decision to cancel the season will cost the network tens of million in production expenses and potentially millions more in potential revenue. Much of the advertising revenue ABC expected to earn while the season aired is also at risk.
