ICE agents assisting TSA workers at Cleveland airport amid partial shutdown

The partial government shutdown is impacting airports across the country, with Transportation Security Administration agents working without pay, creating a shortage of agents at some airports. This led the Trump Administration to deploy ICE agents to assist with the crowds. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is one of more than a dozen airports where ICE agents are assisting TSA workers. The partial shutdown has caused over 400 TSA officers to quit and thousands of people to call out from work due to lack of resources. While airport officials in Cleveland have stated that while ICE agents will not be at all times screening passengers, travelers have mixed reactions to the change.
