DeSantis proposes Florida congressional map that would give GOP 4 more seats

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has proposed a proposed redistricting plan that would give his party four additional seats in Congress. The proposal is expected to be voted upon by state lawmakers in a special legislative session. DeSantan stated that the state was shorted one seat due to an undercount in the 2020 Census and that race-based considerations were another motivation for redrawing the map. The most population growth occurred in outlying areas near Tampa and Orlando, as well as the coastal areas of Florida.
