Thai PM delivers policy address to parliament

Thailand's Prime Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, delivered a policy statement to the parliament in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 9, 2026. He promised comprehensive economic reforms, including an omnibus bill to introduce within the year that will streamline existing laws and reduce business costs. Anuran also outlined plans to manage fuel and energy prices, increase biofuel use, enforce energy-saving measures and aid for vulnerable groups hit by higher oil prices. The government will continue a consumer subsidy programme and will target investments in artificial intelligence and semiconductors.
