Trump officials announce more than $56 billion in Indo-Pacific energy deals

A forum in Tokyo, Japan, resulted in over $56 billion in energy-related deals. The deals aim to strengthen multinational ties and support President Trump's "energy dominance" agenda. Among the deals were a 20-year sales and purchase Agreement for 1.5 million metric tons per year of U.S. liquefied natural gas, valued at about $10 billion, and an $8.6 billion investment for its CP2 LNG facility in Louisiana. Other notable deals included a $1 billion agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries Power Systems to provide large-scale coal power plant boilers for a 1.25 GW project in Alaska.
