The only statewide race in Wisconsin on April 7 is the Wisconsin Supreme Court race between Chris Taylor and Maria Lazar, who are vying to replace conservative Justice Rebecca Bradley. Unlike last year, this race will not change who controls the state's highest court, but will either maintain their 4-3 majority or expand it to 5-2. Taylor is considered the liberal candidate, with endorsements from the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, the court's four liberal justices, Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, and several labor unions. Lazar is the conservative candidate. The debate was held a week later than initially planned due to Taylor's illness.
