The United States Justice Department has reclassifieded medical cannabis from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule III, the same day as lawmakers shut down a special session on the issue. The General Assembly also voted down a bill that would legalize recreational use. The Department of Mental Health and Drug Abuse will decide on the rescheduled issue, not the Department of Public Health.
