Volkswagen is developing an affordable electric SUV for China, using the Jetta name for entry-level new energy vehicles (NEVs). The Jetta X concept was unveiled during the Group’s Media Night on April 21 ahead of the Beijing Auto Show. The brand will launch four NEV models by 2028, which include plug-in hybrids and purely electric vehicles. The first model will be released this year. This move is part of Volkswagen's aggressive product offensive in China, which will include over 20 electrified vehicles in 2026 and 50 models by 2030.
