Golfer Gary Woodland Details PTSD Struggle After Undergoing Surgery for Brain Lesion

Four-time PGA Tour winner, Gary Woodland, has detailed his ongoing battle with post-traumatic stress disorder after undergoing surgery to remove a brain lesion in 2023. Despite the procedure, Woodland continued to deal with symptoms of PTSD such as anxiety and hypervigilance. Since his return to golf in January 2024, he has been working with the PGA tour to implement measures to help him feel more at ease on the course. He hopes to support others facing similar challenges and shares his vulnerability in hopes of helping others in need. In his book, rapper Gucci Mane revealed that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and had a mental health episode in 2020. Despite his struggles, he credits his ability to persist through these challenges to his spirituality.
