WisePies Pizza was one of 45 finalists to pitch at the SXSW festival in Austin in mid-March, presenting its food innovations within the Sustainability, AgTech and Food category. Founder and president of the Albuquerque-based frozen food company, Season Chavez, joined state officials and other company leaders to pitch New Mexico's offerings at the event. While WisePies did not win an award, it was recognized as the Best in Show award. The company's participation in the event provided crucial visibility and networking opportunities for the company, which plans to expand into the Midwest within two years.
