United CEO preparing for $100+ oil into next year

The CEO of United Airlines, Scott Kirby, has warned that his company is preparing for a long-term increase in fuel prices due to ongoing military operations in the Middle East. The price of Brent crude oil has risen to over $100 a barrel following Iranian counterstrikes on U.S. bases and energy fields in the Gulf states. The Strait of Hormuz, a major global oil trading corridor, has effectively closed. Despite efforts by President Trump to mitigate the economic impacts of this conflict, several experts have doubted the effectiveness of these measures.
