Nintendo of America VP Reiko Ninomiya has spoken about the release of a free update and a Switch 2 version of the popular life sim, "Animal Crossing: New Horizons," six years after its success. The update included features such as a resort hotel run by Kapp'n and his family, multiplayer aspects for Nintendo Switch Online members, and an island reset service from another “AC” staple, Resetti. These additions were brought about by fan requests and the game team's own priorities. Ninemiya also expressed pride in the new Slumber Island feature and its progression towards a larger fan-friendly update. She also highlighted the potential for larger updates for the game.
