Tuskegee University has been approved for a paid nursing apprenticeship program, which aims to strengthen Alabama’s healthcare workforce and expand care access. The program, registered through the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship within the Alabama Department of Labor, includes classroom instruction, paid on-the-job learning, clinical experience, and one-on-one mentorship from experienced nurses. Participants can earn wages during clinical rotations. The apprenticeship also includes scholarship opportunities through a partnership with Baptist Health System, which serves as a "last dollar" scholarship provider.
