DHS: 41% of TSA agents called out of work on Sunday in Atlanta

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that around 41% of TSA agents did not report to work at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday, contributing to long security lines across the country. This is due to a partial government shutdown and a rising oil price. Over 3,400 of these agents called out of work. The TSA has urged passengers to arrive at least four hours before their flights due to ongoing concerns about security.
