Gorman, Colby Hutton win 5A state golf championship in an ‘electric’ finish

Bishop Gorman's top senior, Colby Hutton, led Bishop Gorman to the 5A boys state golf championship, securing their first championship since 2023 and claiming the individual title. Hutton's performance came in an "electric" finish that saw Gorman narrowly beat Coronado by one stroke in the team standings at Boulder Creek. His 1-under 71 gave him a two-stroke win over second-place finishers Tripp Hildreth of Palo Verde and Zach Petersen of McQueen. The Gaels' final team score was 589, while Coronados finished at 590 and Palo Verdes for third place. Elko won the team title by two strokes.
