The party argues that Nevada is primed to vote first in the nation in their party primaries due to its diverse electorate, its workforce, and its status as a battleground state. The state party plans to present its pitch to the Democratic National Committee later this spring. The committee will decide on the party's election calendar at a later date. U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto is also advocating for Nevada to be the first-in-the-nation vote for the eventual White House nominee.
