DoorDash has launched a pilot program in Half Moon Bay, California, using reusable food containers for delivery orders. The program aims to significantly reduce single-use packaging waste generated by food delivery services. Customers who order from participating local restaurants will be delivered in durable, reusable containers at no additional cost. The reusable containers can reduce emissions by over 60 percent and reduce waste by up to 98 percent compared to single-used compostable options. The pilot program will run until the end of April.
