The number of UK mortgage approvals for house purchase fell to 59,999 in January, down from 61,007 in December, according to the Bank of England. Consumer credit also grew at a faster rate, rising by 1.8 billion pounds ($2.41 billion), above the expected 1.9 billion pounds.
