Series Mania 2026, Europe's largest TV festival, saw the world premiere of "The Handmaid’s Tale" sequel “The Testaments” and concluded after eight days of series screenings. The festival also highlighted Disney+ and HBO Max's ambitions for Europe, with Angela Jain, head of content for Disney+ Europe, the Middle East and Africa, promising to increase content investment across Europe. Other notable highlights included a Disney+ doc profiling Welsh soul singer Duffy, Spanish docuseries "Abandoned," "Murder on Lake Garda," and "The Strange Story of Gustav Maier," a Turkish comedy featuring a 350-year-old vampire virgin. HBO Max Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey also announced an exclusive TV first-look deal with Domingo Corral.
