The Volkswagen Jetta, a compact car from the 2027, is still an affordable and efficient option in the compact car segment. The Jetta's appeal comes from its refinement and spacious cabin, its 158-hp turbocharged inline-four gas engine, and its high fuel efficiency. The Sport trim offers enthusiasts more lively dynamics with a 228-HP turbocharged four-cylinder and an available six-speed manual transmission. While the S model offers a bargain price, the Sport trim adds a front anti-roll bar, XDS brake-based limited-slip differential, and standard 17-inch alloys. The base S has cloth upholstery, manually adjustable seats, useful door pockets, and a deep center console bin. However, if power seats, remote start, satellite radio, and wireless charging are dealbreakers, you'll need to step up to the SE. The EPA estimates that the Jetta will deliver 29 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined.
